Materials for Footstep 5
I teach 9th grade Contemporary Studies. We paired Annie Leonard's Story of Stuff (www.storyofstuff.org) to promote student thinking about systems--visible and invisible. We watched the original version together as a class, practiced note-taking strategies, and then had students choose one of the shorter videos from the site to watch independently. Students discussed the big ideas at the bottom of the worksheet and wrote reflections about why an idea or fact they had encountered was important to them.
